Sheet, it's slitting out.

Well, faithful reader.
I am happy to report that things have been going well in research-land. After two days in a row of feeling like a big suck of a failure I have been having a trend of progress. Baby steps, doctor Marvin.
I am also happy to report that I still love Allagash Tripel. It's like drinking a bottle of wine, but with no purple lip syndrome and more motor function. Mmmm.
On trixies new web log (which anyone reading this probably knows about) she has showcased my latest painting creations. I have only taken one art class including highschool. I also feel like spending so much time on math in college and beyond has rendered me at a loss to come up with anything that's not geometric or abstract.
The challenge of picking out the actual visable colors in a depiction instead of making everything uniform perplexes me. How do you start? Do you paint the backgrounds first and the foreground on top?

MM MM Food.

My office mate is eating a falafel plate and it do smell good.
I'm about to go "teach," but It will probably be lo-impact.
I think the power's out at home because every time I call, I go immediately to vonage instead of our answering machine. So... I hope the recovering patient is ok.
It is a windy wet day here and Let's agree to hope that the rain lets up for my long walk to the truck.

Wore the red sweater trix gave me for chrix. Got positive commments. FYI.
They all asked my why I didn't wait for a colder day to wear it, but it's too warm to wear a coat today anyway.

I am looking forward to a productive and fun semester with hopefully many visits to and from friends.

Feedom!

It's too warm out to be believed. It'll be cold again tomorrow, and we just may have a white christmas afterall! I wonder if curry paste is any good with liquids other than coconut milk?
I had some good strange dreams this morning that I told trix when she got up at 5:45, but I can't really remember them now, except for one about a murderous child pornographer that I don't really want to remember.
I am eating pistachios at a feverish pace.
My discussion section for once may be just that -- I often ended up compensating for an inaudible lecturer, and was always the one giving quizzes and exams. Now its just "discuss and/or stimulate discussion" Kinda weird! Its a course i've taught before but using a different book. The teachers don't WANT me to have any sort of administrative responsibility. I am hoping this will be as cush as it sounds and that I can let my mind wander over to research.
in other news, I am jonesing for doctor who.

Whinny Cooper

That's gonna be my horsie's name. Do you love it?
We have a good pony name to go with it, but I don't know if that's public information.
The end of class is almost nigh. I have never been so eager to start school again.
I anonymized and printed up the homework and quiz averages for my students and was glad to see that if things continue at their current pace then I will have maybe only 1 or 2 people fail -- though there are some people who just haven't handed in homework or been quite absent. They will probably flip their repsective shits when they see their homework averages.
Then I have to decide whether or not to grade a massive backlog of homework or tell them to just do the recent assignments and knock their grade down based on incompleteness. The lazy in me likes the second option.

But I'm not dead yet!

It's the trooph. I'm not dead. But I am teaching what is my least favorite class so far. If i'd only known ahead of time how bad it would be, I would have skipped chapter 2 totally. Just so you know.

I've come to terms with the obvious fact that no one is going to be upset If we don't achieve great things. No one will feel cheated If we don't make up the snow day. No one will notice If I capitalise [sic] If.

I have a daydream of Trix and I taking a vacation as in "going somewhere".
What about new mexico? I've heard bad things, e.g. the state flower is a road cone. I've also heard good things.

We need a big bottle of Zazz. I just can't drink it right now, what with the intensive winter teaching. I told my class today that with class already scheduled for saturday, I will not be showing up for the scheduled snowday makeup on sunday. So there!
