chew on this:

Rondellus.
quoth the description:

"Sabbatum" takes You on a trip. It acts like a time machine. In a single moment You will find Yourself attending a Black Sabbath show during the 14th century. You will be in a medieval cathedral where time stands still. Just You and thousands of fellow kings and queens, knights and ladies. And the tunes that made heavy metal - classic songs by Black Sabbath.

How's the weather, carls?

I had this notion, probably dreamt, that I had seen an online weather forecast indicating that we'd see lows of -66 degrees over the weekend. If this is true, I am definitely in denial. Oh, and the highs will be 19 on saturday and 21 on sunday.

A lengthy post

I've been reading a book about the history of the "American language."
One British reaction to an early American dictionary was something like this:

the word "lengthy" is unnecessary and ridiculous. What will be next, "strengthy?"

creaaaak

It's so warm out today that If I don't look out the window, I feel like i'm in a sunny spring meadow.
I need some prescription sunglasses! It's that time of winter when snowbanks and puddles become blinding. In other news, I've started taking zinc supplements in the hope that underarm BO may be a thing of the past. I have (perhaps foolishly?) avoided any deo/antipersp with aluminum salts because I heard they could be bad for ya. So I basically have been using tom's of maine and now this other orangy stuff all natural and non-staining but not very effective at times.
After 2 particularly bad days, my inner George Clinton burst out saying "GIVE UP THE FUNK!". I began a little research party. Some of the more popular and sensible remedies:
vinegar (lowers pH of skin, making it hard for the odor-causing bacteria to survive there)
zinc supplements (I have no idea why this is purported to work)
chlorophyll pills (apparently work well to reduce a wide variety of bodily odors)
turnip juice (?!?)
H202 ,Rubbing Alcohol (presumably to wipe out the bacteria as well)

So, I'm on day 2 of zinc, and after using an antimicrobial cleanser, I have experienced a return to normalcy. At this point, I would give the credit to the cleanser, but only time will tell if zinc beats stink.

I am, of course, reminded of the simpsons' filmstrip about the importance of zinc, though the uses mentioned there were in firing pins and telephones. ZINC!!! ZINC!!! Come back!
