Last night
A good talk, yes. The real highlight of the evening was sitting at a table of 10 where about 8 or 9 of the people follow politics and are able to argue cogently about current events. It made me feel ashamed to not be on top of it all, to not have viewpoints and arguments to back them up. I wonder if I would be if I had a TV? or read the paper? Aren't I distracted enough already?
Being treated to dinner (cheeseburger club) was also nice. The beer list at Eli Cannon's is ample -- and on chalkboards all a-scatter'd.

that last part reminds me of christmas for some reason.
When you wrote it reminded you of christmas (or, more accurately, when I read it), I smelled pine needles.
